Bring solar the Boise Bicycle Project (BBP) and help them gear up to a more sustainable future. Based out of Idaho, BBP is a nonprofit community cooperative that promotes the personal, social & environmental benefits of bicycling.
The savings BBP will have on electricity bills will be redirected to putting a restored bicycle in the hands of one more child every month of the year.
This project is fully funded and Installed! See pictures here.

“Each dollar diverted from keeping the lights on will be invested in the community,” says the Executive Director, Jimmy HallyBurton. In addition, he hopes to use the additional funds to support training kids about safe riding. He says “some of these children may be receiving their first wheels ever and will become the next generation of cycling advocates to share the love of this healthy, productive, and fun activity.”
The Boise Bicycle Project has environmental sustainability at it's core. They support the bicycling community, allowing for bikes to become a more viable mode of transportation in the city. They believe that the more bicycle-friendly environment they create, the more they can replace gas-burning vehicles with pedal power. BBP is committed to making Boise a better place to live now and for the long-term. Along those lines, they reuse and reinvent whatever they can salavage to use the materials and resources that have already been produced. In doing so, BBP reduces waste and decreases the demand for new goods.
Last year provided:
- 4,185 community members with their services
- 719 refurbished bikes to kids for free
- 55 refurbished bikes to adults for free
- 12 kids fix-it bike workshops
- 30 mobile bike repair workshops

Boise Bicycle Project is a United States 501c(3) nonprofit organization. For more information on BBP, please visit their website at: http//www.boisebicycleproject.org
